My background

My relationship with yoga began as a means to exercise to counter the tolls of a sedentary desk job—poor posture, neck pain, and stress. My predominantly physical and athletic practice soon developed into a lifestyle of mindfulness and self-discipline. For me, the mat is a metaphor for life, offering a safe space to explore discomfort and challenge, ultimately cultivating focus, presence, and equanimity.

Overcoming years of recurrent injuries and chronic pain, I have rebuilt a profound trust in my body through asana. My thoughtful and intentional approach emphasizes building strength and awareness through alignment and introspection.

My teaching centers around alignment with the perspective that alignment is one of many tools to quiet the mind. Each posture is a point of focus just like breath, a candle, or a mantra. From this vantage point, it's reasonable to acknowledge that alignment can be a distraction from practice. If we get in our heads about chasing shapes, or even judge ourselves or others for what their body is doing at a given moment, we're no longer present.

My extensive training and studies include Iyengar yoga with Patricia Walden, Judith Hanson Lasater's renowned restorative yoga training, an ongoing mentorship with Natasha Rizopoulos, and over 500 hours of training through Down Under School of Yoga.

I live in Cambridge, MA with my partner, Michael, and our cat, Oliver.
